Since the autumn of 2020 in Spain we have been experiencing a period of ever higher energy prices, both for electricity and gas.

The reasons for this sharp increase have their origin in three main facts.

– The increase in international gas demand from countries such as China and India.

– The price per tonne of CO2 that multinationals have to buy to compensate for their pollution has almost tripled in the last year.

– And of course the economic consecuences of the Ukranian war

Each of these reasons are unlikely to change in the short to medium term, creating a perfect storm for energy prices, which in the end we as consumers have to pay for.
